Peg City Basketball is excited to bring outdoor 3x3 basketball back to downtown Winnipeg with the Weekender 3x3 Urban Challenge, taking over Graham Avenue as part of The Weekender, Winnipeg’s newest flagship street festival.

Featuring youth, adult, open and wheelchair basketball divisions, plus cash prizes and feature competitions, the Weekender 3x3 Urban Challenge is set to deliver a true urban basketball experience for players and spectators alike.

Experience The Weekender

The Weekender is a FREE three-day festival produced by Downtown Winnipeg BIZ, Smith Events and Archevents, the team behind ManyFest.

Taking place along the Graham Avenue pedestrian corridor, the festival will transform downtown into a walkable destination filled with entertainment, food, activities and local experiences.

There will be plenty happening on and off the court, with FREE admission for all spectators and activities throughout the weekend, including:

• GellyBall — FREE 
• Climbing Wall — FREE 
• Winnipeg Sea Bears Community Team and activities — FREE 
• Dunk Contest — FREE to enter + $250 prize
• Shootout Contest — FREE to enter + $250 prize
• Dance Battle — FREE to enter + $250 prize
• Matt Koenig 3x3 Lab / Skills & Strategy Camp — FREE for registered Youth teams

And beyond basketball, The Weekender festival atmosphere will be in full effect with:

• Live music performances
• Food Truck Wars
• Artisan market
• Live wrestling
• Adventure + Family Fun Zone

An Official FIBA 3x3 Tournament

The Weekender 3x3 Urban Challenge is an official FIBA 3x3 tournament, giving players the opportunity to compete in internationally recognized competition and earn official FIBA 3x3 ranking points.

FIBA 3x3 combines fast-paced competition with an energetic event atmosphere, making it a perfect fit for the streets of downtown Winnipeg.

Tournament Divisions

The Weekender 3x3 Urban Challenge offers divisions for a wide range of ages and levels:

• Adult Division | 2K CASH PRIZE
• Wheelchair Basketball | Medals
• Youth Divisions (10-18U) | Medals

Think your squad can run the city?

The 18+ division is playing for more than bragging rights, with cash prizes on the line for top finishers.

Whether you’re an experienced 3x3 player or entering your first tournament, this is your chance to compete in a downtown basketball experience unlike anything else in Manitoba.

Feature Events

The basketball action goes beyond tournament play, with feature events taking place throughout the weekend, including:

• Shoot-out Contest | $250 CASH PRIZE
